Arc 1600

Arc 1600 was the first village, opened in 1968 on a 30% slope, with car parks set below it to leave the village free for pedestrians. From the station it’s 15.9 km, about 25 min without snow, from €105.42 by day. It’s the lowest and cheapest level.

Arc 1800

Arc 1950

Arc 1950, the newest village, opened in 2003, is entirely pedestrian: the residences are reached from the underground car park. It’s 24.9 km from the station, about 34 min without snow, and €139.62 by day. I drop you on the Lac des Combes side, at the car park.

Arc 2000

Arc 2000, opened in 1979, hosted the speed skiing (“kilomètre lancé”) event at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games; part of the course can still be seen alongside the Varet gondola. It’s 26.8 km from the station, about 38 min without snow, from €146.84 by day. The way up is the D119, which links Arc 1600, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.

From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, you take the D119, which links Arc 1600, Arc 1800, then Arc 1950 and Arc 2000. Journeys take about 25 to 38 min without snow; allow longer when it snows or on Saturdays. The high-altitude villages are reserved for pedestrians: I drop you at the nearest car park or bus station.
