Moûtiers station to Courchevel by private transfer

You step off the train at Moûtiers and there is still a mountain road between you and your chalet. Every winter, from 13 December to 25 March, I cover that last stretch from the Tarentaise train stations. Here is how it works, and what it costs.

Which station for which resort?

The Tarentaise has four train stations that are useful to skiers. The right one depends on your resort.

Book in advance and your private driver is waiting at the station when your train arrives, with the price known before departure. No hunting for a free car on a Saturday in February.

Ski transfer prices

Ski transfers can be booked for 1 to 7 passengers, at the same rate whatever the number of passengers. From 8 passengers, contact me: I’ll organise things with a colleague. My rates:

• Pick-up charge: €45.
• Daytime, 07:00 to 21:00: €3.80 per kilometre.
• Night-time, 21:01 to 06:59: €4.20 per kilometre.
• Beyond 150 km: 25% off the distance charge, except on Saturdays.

There is no fixed price: the fare depends on the actual distance between the station and your accommodation, which the online quote works out for you.

A worked example

Take a journey of about 25 km, for example from Moûtiers to an address in Courchevel, during the day:

€45 + 25 km × €3.80 = €140.

The same journey after 21:00: €45 + 25 × €4.20 = €150.

The distance is just an example. The amount varies with the accommodation you have chosen: it is the kilometres that count, not the name of the resort. The final price is shown when you get your quote, before you confirm.

Skis, luggage, children

In winter, families arrive with skis, luggage and child seats, so I choose the vehicle to match:

• Families and groups of up to 7: Citroën Spacetourer, Mercedes EQV or Renault Trafic, depending on how much luggage you have.
• Baby seats, child seats and booster seats: free of charge, just tell me the children’s ages when you book.
• Skis and snowboards: let me know how many so I can check that everything fits.

How it works in practice

You give me your train number and arrival time. I track the train in real time, and if your connection is delayed, I adjust at no extra cost. I’ll be waiting outside the station with a board showing your name. I load the luggage, and up we go.

I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the season. The return journey works the same way: I pick you up from your accommodation and drop you at the station with time to spare before your train.

From an airport, or from resort to resort

Flying in? I can also pick you up at Geneva Airport, Lyon Saint-Exupéry or Chambéry and drive you to your resort. The price is worked out the same way, per kilometre. If you want to switch resorts during your stay, a resort-to-resort transfer is possible too: just choose the departure and arrival points in the online quote.

Why book in advance

On changeover Saturdays, everyone pours out of the stations at the same time and free vehicles are hard to come by. Book as soon as you know your train times. I work on my own: booking early in the season lets me guarantee your pick-up and give you a firm price.
